API keys and authentication (how to get API keys and access the dashboard)
To gain access to the Pentadata API, you will need to create an account on our dashboard. Once the signup process is complete, you will be provided with a live client_id, secret and public_key via the dashboard.
API protocols
The Pentadata API uses POST requests to communicate and HTTP response codes to indicate status and errors. Json Web Token (JWT) technology is used to verify your identity (authentication) and to confirm the requested operation (authorization).
Error handling (list of possible errors and what they mean)
We use standard HTTP response codes for success and failure notifications, and our errors are further classified by error_type. Please refer to the Help Center for error code resolution.
Data Providers (list of companies who provide data to the API) – there will be preferences that are applied to the overall account – “filter” data from specific providers

FAQs (answers to common questions)
Pentadata data sets and libraries are all accessible through our developer center. Our data is sourced from the leading payment processors, payment networks and banks. Access to data requires a consumer’s permission and opt in as well as certain authentication information.
In order to get started, all you need is an account and developer keys. To access specific consumer transaction data you will need to access our APIs and provide consumer authentication and consent.
Pentadata enables you to access our sand box with a test account at no cost. Once you are ready to go into production and use our live data sets, you will need to select a standard monthly plan or contact us to develop a custom data access plan.
